The word “Sangeet” means music, it is used as a term to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding as it translates to Music Night or Musical Party. Sangeet is a ceremony observed during the evening a day prior to the wedding. This is the perfect setting for both families and all guests to get to know each other, bond, and have fun!
Both the bride’s and groom’s families and friends come together and perform songs and dance routines. We encourage and hope you will prepare an artistic presentation (dancing, singing, comedy, poetry, etc) for the bride and groom!

Mehndi is a temporary natural dye used as an adornment by women, and it is often associated with special celebrations such as weddings, Diwali, etc. It will be applied on the bride’s hands and feet two days before the wedding with intricate patterns and the groom’s name or initials hidden somewhere in the pattern. The groom will have to find his name/initials (Shhh… if any of you find it before he does, don’t tell him).
We will have a mehndi station at the Sangeet Night for any guests who want it applied to them!

Festive Indian Attire encouraged or Western Cocktail Attire. For this event make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes you can dance in! 🙂
